The Beefsteak with onions

Known as steak or scallops as well, it is considered one of the distinctive Egyptian dishes that are served on special occasions and celebrations, and it represents a piece of red meat that is taken from the back of the calf, and it is sold in the market in the form of thin slices, and it is cooked in simple and easy ways, as it can be fried, or grilled,  In this article, we will learn how to make beefsteak with onions and vegetables in two delicious ways.

How to make beefsteak with onions:

The Ingredients:

A kilogram of steak.

large sized onion, finely chopped.

Four teaspoons of lemon juice.

Half a tablespoon of soy sauce.

Half a teaspoon of vinegar.

Half a teaspoon of paprika.

Two small spoons of oil.

Salt, black pepper, and mixed spices to taste.


We flavor the meat with salt, onion, black pepper, mixed spices, paprika, vinegar, soy sauce, and lemon juice.

Put the oil in a tray, then stack the meat in it, put it on low heat, and stir the ingredients from time to time.

Add a small amount of water in case the meat becomes dry.  To mature well.

We pour the beefsteak into a serving dish and serve it hot directly on our dining table.

How to make beef steak with onions and honey:

Mixture ingredients:

A kilogram of steak.

Half a cup of balsamic vinegar.

A quarter cup of soy sauce.

Six teaspoons of crushed garlic.

Four teaspoons of honey.

Four teaspoons of olive oil.

A tablespoon of black pepper.

Half a tablespoon of Worchester sauce.

Half a tablespoon of powdered onions.

Half a teaspoon of salt and hot sauce.

A quarter of a teaspoon of hot red pepper.

Half a tablespoon of rosemary.

Vegetable blend ingredients:

Three zucchini, cut into circles.

1 eggplant, cut into squares.

A large red bell pepper, cut into large size squares.

Bay leaf

A quarter of a kilogram of tomatoes cut into small squares.

Two small spoons of basil.

Salt, to taste.

Four teaspoons of lemon juice.

Four teaspoons of olive oil.


Prepare the steak mixture: mix together balsamic vinegar, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, black pepper, powdered onions, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, rosemary, and hot red pepper in a bowl, then add the steak pieces to the mixture, and stir the ingredients, then leave the steak to soak for a full night.

Heat the grill well, then brush it with a small amount of oil.

Place the steak pieces on the grill for seven minutes on each side, or until all sides are done.

Prepare the vegetable mixture: Heat the vegetable oil in a pot and put it on the stove, then add the eggplant pieces, zucchini, and red pepper, then sauté them well in the oil.

Add tomatoes and bay leaves over the vegetable mixture, and let the mixture boil over the heat, until we have a sauce with a slightly thick consistency.

We flavor the vegetable mixture with dried basil, salt, then add lemon juice to it, then let the mixture boil for two minutes.

Pour the hot steak and mix vegetables into a serving dish, and serve hot.
